Being a single mother of four

I forgot to mention that Stone was able to meet the rest of his aunts, uncles, and cousins during this trip not to mention a countless number of old friends in my parents ward. Everybody loves baby Stone. I barely held him until I got to my brothers house on Sunday, it was crazy. I am used to holding him so much.

Brandon and Tiff were at girls camp last week so they were nice enough to fly me out to watch there three beautiful kids. Mercedes is nine, Beau is five and Reef will be three the end of July. Most people thought I was crazy as a new mom to take on three more kids but I have to tell you overall I had a great time. I love my nieces and nephews and miss seeing them on a regular basis, so it was fun to get a big dose of them. I thought I would just want two kids after the end of the week, but I still want four or so, if it's the Lord's will. There definitely were some crazy moments, but some very sweet ones too. I can definitely see why having two loving parents to raise a family is ideal. I have so much respect for all those single parents who do it out there and who do it well.

It was so wonderful to see Bille and spend so much time with her. She helped me take the kids to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and Sunny Cove Beach. I could not have done it sanely without her. Sorry we didn't take any pics...I always forget. I was so proud of myself for not slipping down the sandy incline to the beach while holding Stone's carrier. A miracle if you ask me. He looked so cute in his little shorts. It will be so much more fun at the beach with him by next summer.

Going home: Stone did not cry on the plane either direction, it was so wonderful. Got to love Jet Blue and there individual T.V.s since I definitely could not hold Stone and read a book at the same time. Also my bag was over 50 lbs and the girl checking me in was in a class with me at S.J.S.U. and she put it right on through. Wahoo. We were so happy to see Spence/Daddy when we got home. Husbands really do not do to well by themselves.

Seeing some of my best girls

It was so fun to be in San Jose before I made my way into Hollister to watch my brother's three kids. I was able to see Aimee and her great boyfriend Kong (sorry no pics), then go over to Amber's parents to vist with her, Caira, and Christine and Brian and Tad. I have not seen Christine or Amber for almost a year. I was barely prego the last time I saw them and now I have an almost three month old baby. Time flies, but, I miss all of you sooo much.

Amber and I used to talk about our futures back in high school and I distinctively remember seeing two cute little surfer boys on the beach. One had the blondest hair like Amber and the other had brown hair brown eyes and olive complexion like me. (Note: I am the whitest I have ever been in my life including my mission, how very sad). Anyhow we joked that those were our future little boys. (Except mine will probably be a little snowboarder now that we live in Utah, or whatver he wants to be) Funny how true that day on the beach really came to pass. (Our boys couldn't look more different, unless maybe Stone was black or something).

p.s. I was not prepared to be in pictures, hence the greasy bangs. After seeing these pics I am even more motivated to lose the baby weight, at least 10 to be back where I started prepregnancy, but I want to lose a bit more. Any momma's have any good ideas to fit the workouts into there day? And if so, what helped you get into shape the fastest? I am no longer breastfeeding so I can no longer burn that many calories just sitting on my couch. Dang it! j.k.

I love my Ergo Baby Carrier

Spence and I received the best baby carrier from a family friend about a month ago. After trying slings and metal frame backpacks with other babies/toddlers I think this ergo carrier is the best one. The company was started by a mother in Maui unsatisfied with other baby carriers. You can find them online or in baby botiques. I can vouch that this carrier is amazing and for all you future mommas out there or those who plan to have more kids you should try it out. The best part is that the carrier is built to last from the infant through the the toddler stages. It was rated by the Parenting magazine as one of the 20 best baby products in the last 20 years. You also have the option of wearing it on your front, side or back. There is a hood to protect baby from the sun, rain, etc. or to even nurse discreetly. It pretty much rocks. I am definitely wearing it to the airport when I go back home this Friday.
